Plaques

Cast aluminium plaques

We design and supply cast plaques for local authorities and civic societies throughout the UK. Usually called ‘blue’ plaques, they commemorate people, buildings or events and are increasingly popular as the history of a community can easily be lost as it grows and changes. While most plaques are circular and 300 to 550mm diameter, there is no set rule on shape or size and we often create very unusual plaques for specific sites.

We maintain long-term records of all the plaques we make and also offer an installation service and a refurbishment service for old plaques in need of some t.l.c.

Cast bronze plaques

Bronze is not the cheapest metal but, for durability and stunning appearance, it is hard to beat. Always the preferred material for war memorials and major public unveilings, bronze has also proved ideal for floor plaques and trail markers set in the paving.

Cast bronze is also used for Interpretation Panels with flair and Toposcopes.

Etched and engraved plaques

Etched plaques, particularly in high-grade stainless steel, have two main advantages. They can be created directly from a customer’s own artwork and they are relatively inexpensive. Engraved plaques, often in brass, are supplied primarily as small commemorative plaques, for corporate i.d. use or for indoor use in public buildings and schools.
